Privacy Policy

MotoChecklist is offline-first. The short version: your data stays on your phone, and we don't collect or sell it.

The short version

MotoChecklist has no account and no sign-in. Your bikes, trips, gear lists, custom items, reference-value overrides, and checked-off state are stored only on your device. We don't collect them, we can't see them, and we don't sell data to anyone. There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers in the app.

What's stored on your device

Everything you create in the app stays local to your phone: your garage, trip sessions, gear lists, your own checklist items, and any reference values you set for your bike. Because there's no account or cloud sync, this data isn't transmitted to us or backed up by us — and uninstalling the app removes it.

What we collect

We (Zugunruhe Labs) do not collect personal information through the app. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, and no in-app purchases or billing in this build.

Network connections

MotoChecklist works fully offline. The one network connection it can make is to check for over-the-air app updates (via Expo's update service). Like any network request, that contact necessarily involves your device's IP address and basic request metadata, handled by that service to deliver the update. We do not use it to identify or track you.

App store data declarations

Our Apple App Store privacy details and Google Play Data Safety disclosures reflect exactly what's described above. If a future version adds a service that changes these data flows (for example billing or analytics), this policy and those declarations will be updated to match before that version ships.

Placeholder — attorney review required before submission

The legally-operative Privacy Policy clauses are not yet written and must not be invented here. Counsel needs to supply app-specific, reviewed text for at least: the data controller / legal entity and contact; legal bases for processing and applicable regimes (e.g. GDPR/CCPA) as relevant; data retention; children's privacy; users' rights and how to exercise them; changes to this policy and its effective/"last updated" date; and governing law. The factual data-handling summary above is provided as accurate input to that drafting and to the store declarations.
